The Plan at Work

In stating UC San Diego’s five goals, thirteen strategies for accomplishment, and measures to ensure alignment, the Strategic Plan deliberately avoided a fixed set of directives—leaving ample and flexible space for bold and difficult decision-making at departmental, unit, and individual levels.

Through annual review, assessment, and measurement, the campus will revisit amounts of support and resources and make as-needed adjustments to the Strategic Plan.

Campus Transformation

Guided by UC San Diego‘s first-ever Strategic Plan, the university is in the midst of a major transformation. Walk through campus and you can‘t miss the physical changes that are coming to life. Beyond the new buildings, there is an intellectual and cultural transformation underway that is reenergizing the student experience and sparking breakthrough research and innovation. The campus is on its way to becoming a true learning-living environment and a destination for art, culture, recreation, and world-class patient care.

Successful implementation results from active and ongoing involvement of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners.
